5 Spring 2025 Sneaker Trends You're About to See Everywhere

White is no longer our favorite neutral color.

Our favorite spring 2025 sneaker trends are fun—and here to save you from your old-shoe slump. The overall feel, as we’ve deduced from scouring the spring/summer runways and spending countless hours walking around New York, is sporty. Classic, streamlined styles dominate this season’s shoe trends; think foam midsoles, thin outsoles, and court-inspired silhouettes.

And while white sneakers will always have a time and place in our closets, silver is making its case as the ultimate neutral when street style leans toward a more quirky personality. It’s as easy to wear as white, but with a much more interesting result. Ready to get your sneaker fix? These are the biggest 2025 sneaker trends we’ll be wearing this spring and summer, including plenty of options that just look expensive.

Retro Foam

While foam midsoles have gotten more cushiony and impressive in recent decades, the trend is starting to change: Many of the coolest sneakers we've seen in real life now feature a '70s-style foam band around the sole. The result looks like something you'd wear to high school track practice in the coolest way possible—and any of these pairs are easy to pair with your current wardrobe of wide-leg jeans and spring dresses.

Ultra thin sole

The street style has spoken: We’re in for another season of slim, classic sneakers, this time with the thinnest soles possible. Introduced late last year by Dries Van Noten’s streamlined sneakers, the style is now available at just about every brand, from Adidas to Zara. Plus, with Miu Miu and Stella McCartney showing ultra-slim styles for spring 2025, they’re only going to get more popular; we recommend snapping up a pair now, before the rest of your chat group starts to notice. (Oh, and Bella Hadid wore the exact same Vivaia below.)

Stone ready to play

Everyone needs a good pair of sneakers in their closet, especially with rubber soles popping up everywhere. Adidas Sambas will be just as hot in spring 2025 as they were last year, and other heritage styles from Puma and Nike are also having a major moment. Meanwhile, Loewe and Tory Burch have released popular styles with track-inspired foam midsoles and grippy outsoles—a total fashion consensus. Whatever pair you choose, pair it with high-top socks for the full retro effect.

Silver Shine

After a few seasons away, silver sneakers are back in a big way—just ask Fashion Week attendees around the world. If you can't get your hands on the super-viral metallic Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 sneakers, which have been hard to find in the U.S. for over a year now, don't worry: These picks from It brands like Salomon and Steve Madden capture the cool-girl energy. Plus, the finish fits in with many of the other trends on this list, including high-top sneakers and foam midsoles. As we mentioned, try wearing the finish anywhere you'd wear white; they look just as good with denim, with a little extra street cred.

Ballet shoes

The oddest sneaker trend on our editors’ radar has finally hit the big time. Following in the footsteps of boundary-pushing labels like Ecco and Simone Rocha, who have long offered ballet flats and sneaker hybrids, big brands like Steve Madden, Puma, and Zara are now releasing their own takes on the trend. The look isn’t for the faint of heart, but anyone brave enough to give it a try will find that it’s the easiest way to instantly update a boring outfit. Plus, when you can get them for just $35, there’s little downside. Give it a try.
